One of the things that helps out a lot when you are living in another culture is the friendships you have with other people from your home country. In our case, we have missionary friends that we hang out with, not to distance ourselves from the Mexican culture, but to give us a chance to rest and relax with other people who understand what we are going through. One of the cool things about Mexico City is that pizza is 2 for the price of one on Tuesday nights. So, we get together, talk, eat pizza, and play games with our “family” away from family.

Yesterday, I went to the Mexico City International Airport twice. The first time was to drop off a group of people. The second time was to pick up our friends the Torberts from Tennessee. They were arriving from their 2 month time in the USA. It was good to see them again. We also learned that they finally finished the new international arrivals from North America wing at the airport. This will definitely cut down on a lot of people traffic in the future. Since the airport serves more than 24 million people each year, it is still usually busy, but the new construction is helping make it easier to travel into and out of Mexico City.
