On Vacation: Well, we’re coming home today from Siesta Key. We’ve had a great time on vacation with Janell’s family. It’s been raining a little, but we did get a good sunset last night.
Last Day at Neilson
Last day at Nielsen: Today is Janell’s last day working at Nielsen. We are entering into a huge transition time as we continue to work towards moving to Mexico. There is a lot for us to do in the next few weeks, and I’m going to need her help. Nielsen has been an awesome place for her to work, and we appreciate all that everyone there has done for us.
Conference with Randy
Here are some photos I took last week during my trip to Mexico City. Thanks to everyone who was praying for this trip. It couldn’t have gone much better than it did. We saw God open many doors, giving us many incredible contacts with people. There is an excitement in the air for the new program to train youth workers at the seminary, and God is doing some great things in Mexico.

NATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION: “Centenario” means 100th year celebration. That’s what the Mexican Baptist Convention was celebrating this week. There were over 600 people in attendance for this week-long convention, and we had the opportunity to share with them about a new program in youth ministry at the seminary in Mexico City. It was a great opportunity for us as we met with many pastors and intereseted students throughout the week. |

| HOREB and SION: Sunday was a busy day as we went to 2 churches. The first one was called Sion (Zion) Baptist Church. We had the opportunity to share about the importance of youth ministry in the local church – about how God loves, calls, and uses young people. We shared the fact that the population of Mexico is getting younger and the churches need to empower their young people to reach their friends. For the evening service, we attended Horeb Baptist Church. The pastor of this church is the president of the National Baptist Convention of Mexico. They have specific ministries to 4 groups of young people. Horeb is a church that is growing, and they are excited about youth ministry. |
Visa Info
VISA INFO: Good news! Janell’s birth certificate arrived! Of course, it came in the mail the same day that I left, so we didn’t get to deliver it with the rest of our paperwork. I did have the opportuity to meet Toni, the lady who is helping us with the visa. She said we should be able to get our visas by the time we leave on August 27. Please pray that we will get them by then.
Old Friends and New Friends
OLD FRIENDS AND NEW FRIENDS: One of the best parts of Mexico is the people. Every time I go, I enjoy the relationships that I make. I had a great opportunity to spend some time with our old friends Carlos, Sonia, Xavier, and Josue. Of course, I also made some new friends, especially with many of the International Mission Board missionaries. They have gone out of their way to help us, and it is encouraging to know we have some American people in Mexico City who are willing to help us. It is also a great opportunity for us to learn from veteran missionaries.
