Goodbye pastor and family

The pastor of our church in Mexico and his family left today for Houston. I took them to the airport this morning, leaving the house at 4:30 am. It is always a sad time to see someone leave, even if you know they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I preached at their “despedida” (good bye party), and I said that we are not leaving a pastor, but sending a missionary. Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA with a large hispanic population.

Josue and his family will be missed by us here in Mexico, but I am sure they will be blessed for having followed what they believe is God’s will for their life. They have been very good friends for Janell and I and have helped us with a lot of things during the first 2 years here. Still, it’s hard to say goodbye. Unfortunately, the life of a missionary is a life of goodbyes.
